Maureen was born at Huntington Hospital in March of 1957 To Clifford and Alice Murray, completing an amazing family. Early memories of summers in Sauble Beach, Canada and road trips to various places for camping and vacations filled her heart before starting at the Westside Elementary School. The same school's previous location would become the Murray's family home where she loved to play with her older sister Marylynne and listen to albums with her older Brother Cliff (CJ). The home had new memories, experiences, and stories - not too surprising when you live close to Sagamore Hill and the Tiffany Estate. Maureen was always involved in activities and adventures, while at Cold Spring Harbor Jr/Sr High School she became a member of The Mensa Society while still growing her free spirit we all came to admire. She graduated early and began at SUNY Geneseo to pursue a degree in Special Education. Life did end up having different plans for her, and she began her career life at Griffiss Air Force Base as a photographer before becoming a civilian Telecommunicator, moving to Rome N.Y. and finally finding a home with the Rochester, N.Y. Police Department's Office of Emergency Communications. She got married and became a Step-mother - sharing a special relationship with Marcus, and a few years later gave birth to Katelin. Two years later she had Jeremy, who has Down Syndrome, followed by Lucas eighteen months after. After her time as a dispatcher and telecommunicator had ended she became an Employment Counselor for individuals with disabilities, homeless veterans, and teenagers helping them obtain jobs and learn job readiness skills.

Later in life she would move to Titusville, FL sharing her father's final years. She became a grandmother to Ryan, Marley, and Alex and loved nothing more than sharing their excitement and joy. Maureen had faced numerous health issues, and after years of fighting - went into the Hospice of St Francis' program while Katelin cared for her at their home as her health declined. She peacefully passed at the Edward Poe Hospice care center, creating bonds with staff members that she came to love, and was loved by equally. Maureen was predeceased by friends and former partners, her Father Clifford Murray, Mother Alice Murray (Greaves), sister-in-law Martha Murray (Gehling), and Niece Sarah Thomas - people she loved dearly and absolutely greeted her lovingly when she passed. Maureen is survived by her brother "C.J.", sister (Marylynne (and Tim) Thomas, her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many members of chosen family. Her greatest joy was being called "mom" by people she met in her life that became family as well as her own. She was a magnetic soul that drew you in, loved you, and motivated you to do amazing things. She will be missed dearly, but in the words of her favorite musician Cat Stevens "My body's been a good friend, but I won't need it when I reach the end"
