Ricardo Rios

Ricardo Rios, age 68, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, in Melbourne, Florida. He was born on June 9, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.

Ricardo was a man who deeply loved his family, his city, and the things that brought him joy. He had a special love for Chicago House music — not just any music, but the sound and spirit of Chicago itself. He enjoyed bike riding along the lakefront, cheering on the Chicago Cubs, and spending time watching science fiction, especially Star Trek.

He is survived by his loving mother, Carmen Rios y Ayala; his sisters, Rosa and Minerva; his brothers, Israel and Norberto; his daughters, Vanessa and Mindy; and many nephews, nieces, and all of their children, who will continue to cherish his memory.

Ricardo was preceded in death by his father, Teofilo Rios Sr.; his brothers, Teofilo Rios Jr. and David Rios Sr.

A memorial service will be held in Chicago at Mount Carmel Cemetery by his family.

Ricardo’s memory will live on through the music he loved, the stories he shared, and the family and friends who loved him dearly.
